Project Joy and Hope (PJH) is seeking a Program Services & Development Coordinator to lead community outreach, drive donor development, and provide compassionate support to families facing serious illness. This unique role combines the heart of service with the drive of relationship-building and fundraising and is perfect for someone who loves people, meets goals, and wants their work to matter.
Who We Are
Project Joy and Hope (PJH) is a Texas-based nonprofit providing transitional housing, financial relief, emotional support, and Hope Scholarships to children with life-limiting conditions and their families. Our mission is to provide stability for families caring for a seriously ill child. We offer compassionate care during some of life’s most difficult journeys.
About the Role
This position is 80% focused on development and donor engagement and 20% on program services. We are looking for a confident communicator with a heart for service, a talent for networking, and the ability to set and meet fundraising goals—while also supporting families and children directly.
Key Responsibilities
Development & Outreach (80%)
• Build and strengthen relationships with donors, businesses, churches, and civic groups.
• Set, pursue, and achieve fundraising and sponsorship goals.
• Represent PJH at networking events, fundraisers, and community outreach opportunities.
• Manage and grow PJH’s presence on Facebook and other social media platforms.
• Support planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and donor recognition activities.
• Draft donor communications, thank-you notes, and impact updates.
Program Services (20%)
• Assist with housing logistics and family services as needed.
• Support special projects and monthly & seasonal family outreach.
• Interact with children and families with empathy, warmth, and professionalism.

• Is a confident communicator who enjoys meeting new people and forming connections.
• Can set, pursue, and meet measurable goals, especially in fundraising or sales contexts.
• Has experience in customer service, nonprofit work, or donor development.
• Is organized, gives attention to detail, dependable, and committed to PJH’s mission.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work compassionately with families facing difficult circumstances.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable with digital communication tools.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during events or meetings.
• Ability to travel locally as needed for community outreach and program activities
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday (some evenings/weekends required for events) Compensation: Commensurate with experience
